Staying Screwed In

"We're only the light bulbs, and our job is to remain screwed in."  Richard Rohr, quoting Desmond Tutu in FallingUpward.  What a potent sentence!  It speaks deeply to me.   Does it say anything to you?  .....My life has now evolved to the staying "screwed in" phase.  Not that I'm totally there, not even quite sure where I am or where I'm going, but staying screwed in seems like a comfortable place to be.  So I'm working on that.  .......This morning I truly feel screwed in.  First spent 30 minutes in the dark on the screened porch listening to a guru on my laptop leading a meditation session.  Had no idea what his words meant, but they took me there.  Where I definitely felt screwed in.  I continued with my 30-minute trash pickup walk, and then - then green tea in my rocker watching the surface of the Pond vibrate.   This helps me remember that vibrating is what the whole of creation is doing.  Every stick, every stone, every substance.  Perhaps that's what death of the physical body is - it stops vibrating?
