Giving Up to Become

Letting Go

I must be willing to give up what I am, in order to become what I will be......Einstein.  .....I ran across this in my study yesterday and want to share the thoughts with you.  That's what makes becoming so difficult - giving up.  I don't give up easily.  The whole first half of my life (maybe three-quarters) was spent NOT giving up but building more.  Accumulating.  Finally I'm getting the notion that I have to give up first to make room for the new.  Piling the new on top doesn't work.  It's not clean.  It's muddled.  Trying to hold on to both fails.  Then neither is pure.  I am still in the process of giving up what I have been and am, and it hurts.  But, AAAHHH the glorious feeling of becoming!!!
