Albuquerque
Yesterday was a grand one! Left home after our morning rituals - asanas, pranayama, (for me)and meditation in the courtyard for both of us. Then on the road to Albuquerque at 10 for our 11:15 appointments for haircuts. Very nice time spent in the Waves salon - marvelous collection of magazines which we both enjoyed perusing. Then on to Old Town for lunch at La Hacienda (I had the strange feeling that this may be the same restaurant we used to eat at 45 years ago) a real test of our appreciation for Mexican food. I ordered my favorite - chili rellenos and Faye hedged her bet by adding a taco to her order - fortunately! One bite was all she could stand. The chili rellenos were REALLY HOT! But, at least they used real chili peppers (I once had one made with bell peppers in Greenville). I truly enjoyed mine, but didn't need but one, so glad we ordered ala carte. Probably our mistake was in not ordering beers or margaritas to go with the lunch! Water just didn't cut it. Nice quiet one-hour drive home (Faye drove - what a great thing it is to be able to share the driving. I highly recommend it.) Back to our casa for a quiet evening of reading, knitting, and FB, email, etc. on computer. ----- It was fun for me to spend some time in Albuquerque reminiscing and seeing a few old landmarks that I recognized. ----- This day will be a quiet one at home. Faye is working on finishing her Master Knitter's paper and I am working on developing a concrete plan for my part of our next project which begins tomorrow. We will each begin spending one hour 5 days each week in some kind of desired new activity and writing 600 words per day. I'm leaning toward an hour of pranayama (breathing work) and writing the book Jim proposed - "All By Myself" if I can get the nerve to do it. The what and how are completely at our discretion. Sometimes I think the deciding what and when and how to do is gonna be the hardest part. For the last couple of days I've been doing some preliminary practice and it still seems good. So, today is study and discernment day. ----- We both seem to have acclimated well so far but I'm still fighting runny eyes and nose - obviously allergic to something, but Zyrtec and Restasis and OTC eye drops are handling that so it is not disruptive - I'm doing everything that I wish.----If things go as planned, we'll go north to it Taos tomorrow - went south to Albuquerque yesterday. Stay tuned.
